Welcome to the Monthly Roundup! Here's our chance to share some highlights from the past month: what we're treating, what we're learning, what we're eating. A quick review of the things we care about and how we're spending our time. Got an update you care about to share with us? We wanna know - hit reply and stay in touch! โ๏ธ
What We're Treating
When asked, "Do you treat XYZ condition?" || Dr. Rasmussen's answer, "Are you a person?" -- The human behind any disease, diagnosis, syndrome, or label is so much more important to us than what we call it. Truly.
Here are some of the clinical highlights from this month:
Managing inflammation + "controllables" in a (distance) patient with cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer)
Navigating several (acute + chronic) mold infections demonstrated in urine mycotoxin tests
Fertility for Two: Helping a female and her partner navigate conception challenges by ensuring optimal biology and nutrient status
Upping the mental game (brain blood flow, oxygenation, mindfulness, fuel) of a professional pickle baller (yes, that's a badass job title)
Discovered heavy viral burden (Epstein Barr Virus + Cytomegalovirus + Parvovirus!) in a patient with known tick-borne illness
Coordinating care with advanced labs and imaging for a few patients interested in longevity screening #biohackers

Lab testing is only part of the picture. We spend time talking through your unique challenges, goals, and current choices to help develop a foundation of living well.
I had the opportunity to attend the Great Lakes Conference in Minneapolis MN. This is one of my favorite learning opportunities of the year. I've been for the past 12 years! I'm also enjoying new online coursework specific for mold and tick-borne disease.

I've been learning some BTS skills lately. We've migrated to a new email marketing system and I'm revamping graphics on the website and instagram. I'm enrolled in an intensive workshop (9-months!) to really up level how The Facility is showing up in the online space.
Ending the year on a high! We made it through a big location change and feel very settled into Kiln Littleton. We're really loving the opportunities that come with Telehealth and looking ahead to how we can improve as distance clinicians.
We don't get into big January 'reset' because we largely live with balance throughout the year. However, it is an exciting time for many patients who use the New Year to motivate / inspire a lifestyle shift. That energy is infectious (in a good way)! โจ
